MADRID

June, 21st

This working session is dedicated to wine tourism both at the level of wineries and oenological offer. We have more than 70 designations of origin, but we also have establishments where you can enjoy oenological experiences that have more than 2,000 references with the best wines in the world. But wine tourism is much more than visiting a winery; wine bars, specialty shops, and activities like tastings can be high value-added elements for any traveler. All this will be discussed during the course of the day.

  • Presentation of Abadía de Retuerta as an exponent of high-level Spanish winery.
  • Visit to a recently opened wine bar that combines the concepts of a restaurant, wine tastings, and a store, offering special deals for small groups of customers.
  • Valquejigoso means the «Valley of the Quejigos». The Quejigo (gall-oak) is a tree of the quercus gender as the holm oak, the oak or the cork oak. As there is a huge concentration of those trees in this pasture area, the location has historically been given the name of «Dehesa de Valquejigoso».
